Six days before expectant parents Sarah and Peter Milosevic were due to welcome their unborn daughter Sophie into the world a drugged up and drunk driver ploughed into their family car. Instead of bringing baby Sophie home to her already prepared nursery, Sarah lay in a hospital bed with a broken back clutching her dead daughter in her arms while Peter watched on with a broken neck. Sophie s death on that fateful day on August 29, 2014 was not recognised as murder or manslaughter or in any charge that ended in occasioning death ; instead she was listed as one of the many massive injuries Sarah suffered.

Subscriber only Gatton will bid farewell to Target this Saturday when the home retailer closes its doors for the final time. The closure follows Wesfarmers announcement from May last year, where the retailer said it would close 167 stores across Australia. Fortunately, Gatton Target was marked as one of the stores to be converted into a Kmart outlet - now known as a K Hub store. The new K hub stores will offer a new experiences for shoppers in Gatton. A quirky and unique experience has helped one of the Lockyer Valleyâs newest establishments take out the best cafe in the region.
The Laidley Florist and Tea Room was voted best cafe in the Lockyer by
Gatton Star readers.
Itâs a huge feat for Megan Hayes, who operates Amazing Grace Patisserie out of the cafe site, having opened her shop three months ago.
âItâs very lovely and nice feedback seeing as weâve only been open since October,â Megan said.
Megan studied commercial cookery, while working at some of Brisbaneâs top dining establishments, and Forest Hillâs Caffe Sorella.
