It was on July 11 that seeing waters of the Sutlej surging continuously, most families from this ‘island’ village had to move to Government Primary School building and take shelter, a new building that had come up in 2020 and is built on a relatively higher level of ground. Twenty-eight days on, the school continues to be the saviour for families whose homes have been washed away in floods.
