STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A 22-year-old woman faces sex-trafficking charges after she forced a female victim into prostitution under the threat of violence in order to pay off a debt, authorities allege.
The shocking arrest marks at least the third connected to alleged sex-trafficking on Staten Island in less than a month.
Anastasia Mason of Mariners Harbor obtained clients and “demanded” the victim perform sexual acts on them in exchange for money, according to the criminal complaint.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A 24-year-old man from Tottenville is the second person to be arrested in connection with an operation where at least one young woman was forced to prostitute herself in Stapleton, authorities allege.
Andy Garcia of Chelsea Street was arrested on March 13 in connection with alleged incidents of prostitution between March and September of 2019, according to the criminal complaint.
Garcia “did intentionally advance, operate and/or profit from a prostitution operation” based at a property he owns on Canal Street near Bay Street, the complaint alleges.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A 43-year-old Stapleton man flashed a phony police badge and threatened to harm a woman and her family if she did not prostitute herself on the borough, authorities allege.
Miguel Daniel Gatica Zeferino, of Tompkins Street, was arrested on Saturday on charges of sex trafficking and promoting prostitution for incidents from March through September of 2019, according to the criminal complaint.
