Jubilee Party candidate Virginia Wamaitha is on the verge of winning the Hell’s Gate Ward representative seat.
By 9:30 pm, she had garnered 3,863 against her closest rival UDA’s Jonathan Warothe who got 2,766 as per reports from party agents.
But the Naivasha IEBC returning officer David Mbui said he was yet to receive official results from his presiding officers.
In London Ward, UDA’s Antony Nzuki took an early lead this evening, as vote tallying continued.

Police have dismissed Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika’s claims that there are plans to disrupt the London and Hell’s Gate Ward by-elections tomorrow.
In a letter to the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai, Kihika alleged that the ruling Jubilee party intended to use the police to block supporters of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidates from casting their ballots. In an elaborate plan, Nakuru West OCPD Samson Gathuku has been instructed to threaten, blockade, and curtail the movement of UDA supporters on the voting day, Kihika wrote.

At least names of 30 aspirants have been forwarded to the electoral agency for vetting ahead of two ward by-elections in Nakuru County slated for March 4, 2021.
The seats fell vacant following the deaths of Samuel Mbugua of London Ward and Hell’s Gate’s John Njenga in November.
Last week Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) directed political parties interested in fielding candidates to send names of aspirants by Monday. But Jubilee Party Secretary General Nakuru branch Peter Cheruiyot said they sought an extension. We have engaged the IEBC to have more time for more aspirants who had not managed to obtain critical documents by today. They have until Wednesday to provide the party with the documents, said Cheruiyot on Tuesday.
