A Cherryville woman was arrested in connection with the January death of her 3-year-old daughter, according to police. Cherryville Police said 26-year-old Jenna Michelle Melton was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of her daughter, Anna Lee Tadych. According to a news release, Anna Tadych died on January 5. Police have not released any additional information on how the child died along with what led up to Melton being charged. Melton was held on no bond and placed in the Gaston County Detention Center, according to police.

The Cherryville Police Department announced the arrest of 26-year-old Jenna Michelle Melton on Wednesday. The department said she was charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her 3-year-old daughter, Anna Lee Tadych. According to them, Tadych died on January 5, 2021. Cherryville police said they couldn t release further information as the investigation is still active. However, they confirmed in their news release Melton was placed in the Gaston County Detention Center and is being held on no bond.

(WBTV) - A 17-year-old was shot and killed in Kings Mountain Wednesday evening. The shooting happened around 7:18 p.m. on Redwood Circle off of Cleveland Avenue. Police say they found the 17-year-old with ânumerous gunshot wounds to his body.â He was taken to CaroMont Medical Center in Gastonia, where he died. Richard Emory Darnell Brown Jr., 20, was arrested in the case and charged with murder. He is being held at the Gaston County Detention Center under no bond.
