Damaturu, Feb 17, 2021 The Yobe Executive Council, Chaired by the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idi Gubana, on Wednesday approved N3.2 billion for the execution of various capital projects in the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi Bego, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, announced this to newsmen after the council meeting in Damaturu.
“The State Executive Council also considered and approved the sum of N1.5 billion for the procurement and installation of aircraft rescue and fire fighting trucks, for which the training of personnel to effectively deploy and use those equipment and the installation of Low Level Wind-Shear Alert System (LLWAS) at the Damaturu International Cargo Airport (DICA), is ongoing,” he said.

The Yobe State government says it has been able to achieve about 95 per cent performance in the 2020 budget, despite set back by COVID-19.
The state said despite the pandemic, the government under Governor Mai-Mala Buni’s leadership, has been able to embark and execute about 140 critical projects and provided services in the state.
The state Commissioner of Information, Abdullah Bego, disclosed this at an end-of-year press briefing attended by PREMIUM TIMES in Damaturu.
Mr Bego said critical amongst the success stories of the Governor Buni administration are the execution of projects that “did not only impact on the state but create thousands of job opportunities for the people especially the youth.
