JOHN’S, NEWFOUNDLAND, CANADA- During a recent call with investors, Suncor Energy CEO Mark Little commented on the future of the Terra Nova FPSO and efforts to confirm the Asset Life Extension project of the vessel. Mr. Little stated that a deadline to decide on the project has been set for June 15, 2021. Newfoundland and Labrador’s Noia discourages abandoning offshore Terra Nova Project 5/3/2021 Suncor Energy on Friday issued Expressions of Interest (EOI) related to the Terra Nova Floating, Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel located on the Terra Nova offshore field. Two EOIs prepare for decommissioning of the FPSO and the field and another provides an update to a previous EOI preparing for remediation of the FPSO to support the asset life extension project. Newfoundland and Labrador’s Noia comments on industry task force report 4/30/2021 Thursday, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador released the Oil and Gas Industry Recovery Task Force Report which contains 52 recommendations pertaining to the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore oil and gas industry.
