britain and france might be the new leaders of the western world? well, what i said to canadians this week, fareed, is we need to chart as canadians, our own clear and sovereign course. every country makes its own national decisions. we re lucky to live in a democracy, america s lucky to be a democracy. it s for the american people to choose their course. equally it s for the canadian people to choose our course. foreign minister of canada, great to have you on. one nation as a plan to get rid of the gas guzzlers by selling only electric cars. it will surprise you to learn the name of that nation whch. when we come back. okay. got it.
like south carolina where, you know, honda and other foreign automakers have created a lot of jobs. klcolumbus, ohio. another factor, one factor is, do you buy gas guzzlers as long as oil is as cheap as it is. let that change and you have a whole different ball game with how many people are going to be flocking to those foreign autos. jackie, is errol says this is a message. does that mean that president trump will urge americans to buy only american manufactured cars from american companies that were born here, for lack of a better way to put it? it seems like an unwise move given how many jobs. i m from columbus, ohio. my neighbors, their parents had jobs at the honda plant. it really doesn t make a whole lot of sense to alienate other countries that are bringing jobs into the country at the cost of u.s. auto workers. the other thing that isn t
thanksgiving table. of course, getting there only is half the battle. you have to come back at some point. sunday is expected to be the busiest and problem-filled day, especially between the hours of 1:00 and 6:00 as people really try to cut it close to squeeze out the last few minutes of the weekend with family. saturday expected to be the best day, they recommend that you get up and get a head start out the door. beat that traffic even on saturday. like i said, expected to be one of the lightest days of the weekend to travel. really is amazing when we think about this being under $2 at $1.99. i see a lot of the cars behind you, trucks and suvs, we have seen a couple sedans rolling behind you right now, but the majority of the gas guzzlers, the drivers of those cars have to love this. but let s talk about what those folks getting on the roads are going to see, the prices of hotel rooms for those that may have to stay overnight somewhere, sarah, has that seen a market decrease? what
haven t seen prices like this since 1975. it s been decades. yeah. it s amazing when you think about it, especially when you bake in inflation. but how long is this going to last for us? a lot of us have whiplash when it comes to feeling as if we re getting a deal at the gas pump. it s hard to predict oil prices will go back to $100 a barrel absent a huge production in countries. the u.s. is efficient at producing oil. there say glut of oil in the u.s. canada has so much oil that they re running into trouble. they can t even export it anymore because we have so much of our own. so prices can stay depressed for a long time. i would expect volatility in prices up and down. we ve seen that in the last couple weeks. my guess is they stay lower for longer than we ve been accustomed to in recent years. is this going to drive people to check out those bigger gas guzzlers? well, that s been they ve been looking for labor day. that s the best time to buy a car. absolutely, the
people trading in a hybrid bought another one. the silver lining here is that new suvs are becoming more fuel efficient. the little bit of ironic twist i bring you on this day though is that it s earth day. happy earth day everybody. they re trading in their hybrids for sort of gas guzzlers. on earth day, that is an interesting proposition. thanks so much alison. it s only 19 months to the presidential election. candidates are busy building up their bank accounts. why are white house hopefuls already raking in the cash? and who is leading the charge? we ll take a look. financial noise financial noise financial noise
