A Shamokin man snared in an online child sex sting conducted by Kingston police was sentenced to serve up to two years in the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
Kingston police charged a Shamokin man in connection with an online child sex sting on Thursday.
Gary A. Kerstetter, 52, engaged in a graphic conversation on the internet with a person he thought was a 15-year-old girl, police said in a criminal complaint.
The âgirlâ was actually a Kingston police detective.
Following an online conversation that started on Jan. 21 and included explicit references to sex acts he wanted to perform, Kerstetter attempted to meet the âgirlâ for a sexual encounter, police allege.
On Thursday morning, Kerstetter agreed to go to Kingston police headquarters and speak with investigators, according to the criminal complaint. He admitted he tried to arrange to meet someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex, the complaint states.
