A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional murder in the 2013 killing and disappearance of his father.
Austin J. Herbst, 26, entered his plea last week in Scott County court, according to
The Star Tribune. Authorities previously said that he confessed to killing his father
Gary A. Herbst, 57, who was physically and verbally abusive, especially Austin’s mother
Connie L. Herbst, 63.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 4. Both sides of the case have yet to agree on a punishment. Connie Herbst, the co-defendant, is scheduled for court on April 27 in connection to her case for aiding and abetting second-degree murder.

Austin J. Herbst, of New Prague, pleaded guilty last week in Scott County District Court to second-degree intentional murder in connection with the death of 57-year-old Gary A. Herbst, whose bullet-punctured skull was sniffed out by a dog in Dec. 2017 south of Barron, Wis., and brought back to its owner s home.
