if they believe that they face nothing but unrelenting sanctions and punishment for years and years no matter what they do, then they have no incentive to concede at all. and unfortunately, if the congress were to take the step, and this is what secretary kerry and vice president biden have been trying hard to dissuade them from doing, if they were to take the step to add more sanctions, that would be one additional piece of evidence in the iranian eyes that the united states doesn t really want to deal and just wants to punish iran and its economy forever. now, gary sick wrote an interesting piece in the new york review of books where he argued that we re at the perfect moment for a deal. this is the last generation of iranian leaders who were j kated in the west and understand the west, we have abamerican president not worried about re-election, and the sanction, combined with president ahmadinejad s economic mismanagement have forced iran to the bargaining table. do you agree with
