A last-ditch effort to prevent Grand Strand Humane Society from building a new home in the Myrtle Beach area could go before Horry County Council next month.
At Tuesday’s I&R meeting, councilmember Gary Loftus, whose district contains the 10 acres, said he wanted the council to apply a zoning overlay in the area which would negate the current zoning in the area and disallow the new shelter.
