As many as 150,000 or more EU citizens could be left in a Windrush-style immigration limbo because of holes in the government s EU settlement scheme, experts have estimated.
At a hearing of a parliamentary committee on Tuesday peers were told that those who were digitally excluded, who lack evidential paperwork, are simply unaware of the scheme would likely fall through the cracks.
The deadline to apply for settled status is just a month away on 30 June, though the Home Office has indicated that it will be flexible with accepting late applications.

Widnes man completes marathon effort 7 months ahead of schedule TWO keen runners have covered the distance between two iconic landmarks in less than five months, running at least 10km a day for the past 136 days. Friends Dave Bowden, from Prescot, and Gary Kenny, from Widnes, started their challenge on New Year’s Day aiming to run from Land’s End to John O’Groats - a total of 1,404km. The energetic duo have done 126 10km runs and four 15km runs as well as four half marathons and they completed their final marathon leg last weekend seven months ahead of schedule, welcomed home by family and friends.
