Violence and harassment complaints. We must do more to protect students and equip universitys to prerespond appropriately to Sexual Assault on campus. This amendment will allow more institutions of Higher Education to implement comprehensive, coordinated responses to Sexual Violence through the Campus Grant Program. The Campus Grant Program was created by the violence against women act of 2005 and reauthorized by the violence against women reauthorization of 2013, a bill which i worked hard to help pass. Increasing funding to this Vital Program representance important step in empowering victims of Sexual Assault and protecting men and women on College Campuses in arizona and across the country. I urge my colleagues to support this amendment. And before i close, i want to thank che chairman of the appropriations committee, mr. Rogers, and the chairman of the commerce, justice, science appropriations committee, mr. Wolf and Ranking Member mr. Fattah for working with me on this issue. Fin
Watt, we have not seen eye to eye on many issues, im hoping that perhaps from a different perspective in the top row on the democratic side of the House Financial Services committee maybe therell be an epiphany about issues, i dont know that to be true. I will comment less on my former colleague and perhaps comment more on his predecessor and that is, rarely will you find a more astute, finer Public Servant than ed demarco, who did incredible work and so without saying anything about mel watt, i think it speaks volumes about the administration and in replacing ed demarco, who was realy and a lot of the path act, frankly is codifying into law a lot of Ground Breaking work that hes done as head of the shfa. So that will be the polite and avote way i avoid your question. Why dont we take another estion, but i want to add to that, ed demarco is a Public Servant who does deserve a lot of applause. New york has 628 federal aid highway projects for 2015 which requires approximately 2 billion for the funding. 40 of these projects are bridges that are in need of construction or repair. Without the new funding from the Highway Trust Fund to start these projects next year new york state would have to begin restricting the use of roads and bridges that are no longer safe or can no longer handle the capacity for which they were originally designed. This would result in detours, delays, problems getting things that need to be brought into our commerce. It means more time and money loss for businesses and families who are just struggling to make it in this tough economy. New york state is by no means alone.
