Police said they responded to the 1700-block of East 7th Avenue at about 2:45 a.m. for a report of a child shot.
After they arrived, they were told that the boy had been shot three times. He was then airlifted to Comer Children s Hospital for treatment and his condition is not known. I heard a gunshot, which woke me up. Then, I heard the babies crying, so I really didn t know what was going on, said Lashon Verge, neighbor. I pray to god that he be okay and that he just pulls through everything because I m sure he was really scared, Verge said.
