Humberto Carrillo Injury Update After WWE Stunt Gone Wrong By Joseph Patrick Sheamus has held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship since Survivor Series.
Rising WWE star Humberto Carrillo got another shot at the U.S. title of Sheamus, but one of his high-risk moves went haywire. The Mexican was attempting a sunset flip at one point from the ring apron, but both wrestlers had an awkward landing on the arena floor.
Carrillo appeared to have lost his balance, and that resulted in Sheamus landing on him inadvertently. From the video footage, the 25-year-old could be seen signaling someone by the hand and appearing to call for the familiar timeout sign. The Irishman appeared to be injured as well as he tried to crawl and move toward the Mexican.
Cassidy needed urgent transport to Waikato Hospital, but wild weather made it too dangerous for a rescue helicopter flight. An urgent call went out to the Westpac air ambulance, the fixed-wing aircraft owned and operated by Philips Search and Rescue Trust, to fly to Whakatāne Airport, where Cassidy’s ambulance was waiting. “I was loaded on to the plane in stormy conditions by a tremendously amazing, caring crew who were so reassuring. It takes courage and determination to fly in atrocious weather,” Cassidy said. A routine stent procedure was conducted, and he was out of hospital the following day.
WWE has announced that they have cancelled plans to hold NXT UK Takeover: Dublin, which had been set for June 30 at the 3Arena. WWE confirmed the news in a statement to ITR Wrestling’s Gary Cassidy after it was reported that Ticketmaster listed the event as cancelled. It was also not available on the 3Arena website.
The statement reads: “
NXTUK Live: Dublin scheduled to take place at 3Arena, Dublin on Sunday, June 20 2021 has been cancelled. Refunds will be available from point of purchase.”
The event had originally been planned for April 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before the world changed, WWE planned to have the first NXT UK TakeOver outside of Britain on April 26, 2020 in Dublin. It looked like the show would be main evented by a Finn Bálor vs. WALTER showdown. Becky Lynch was probably going to appear. It would have been great!
Then concerns about COVID-19 turned into the pandemic, and everyone around the globe is still trying to figure out how to move forward more than a year later.
WWE’s been trying to move forward with
TakeOver: Dublin by moving it to later dates. But after doing that a couple times, and with no guarantee the June 20, 2021 they’d last announced would be feasible, they’ve gone ahead and called the whole thing off.
