Five Royal Canadian Legion branches in the Sudbury district received nearly $50,000 in federal funding to help cover their operational costs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Onaping Falls legion will receive $5,250, and legion branches in Capreol, Sturgeon Falls and Chelmsford, as well as Lockerby Legion Branch 564 in Sudbury, will receive $10,845.05 each.

The funding is being provided through the Veterans Organizations Emergency Support Fund, which is part of Canada’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Plan.
