we re back on the fox news alert. geraldine ferraro has died at age 75. mrs. ferraro was a teacher, attorney, politician and former member of the u.s. house of representatives, but perhaps best remembered as the first woman to run for vice-president on a major party ticket. president h.w. bush saying quote, barbara and i were deeply saddened to learn of garry s passing. though we were one time political opponents, i am happy to say gerry and i became friends in time and a friendship marked, by respect and affection. ferraro catapulted to prominence a the democratic national convention, and walter mondale, joined his ticket against incumbent ronald reagan and george h.w.
