Last week, new quarterbacks coach Garrett McGee sent out his first offers to several 2022 quarterbacks across the country.
2022 quarterback Nick Evers (6-3, 190, Flower Mound, TX. High) was one of those guys who picked up an offer after talking to the newest Gators assistant coach.
“Coach [Garrett] McGee offered me,” Evers said on the coach who offered him last week. “He said a lot of great things and is very excited for me to come to their campus soon.”
Evers was excited and thankful to pick up the offer from McGee and understands the opportunity that the offer presents.
“Honestly, I’m very thankful and crazy excited about the offer,” he said on what the offer means to him. “I recognize how special this opportunity is and I can’t wait until I can get on campus to see and touch everything in person. When Coach McGee offered me, I was speechless.”
The Greater Delaware County Community Foundation has announced this year’s round of McGee Barr Grants.
The grants are funded by the interest and earnings on the money left to the foundation by Garrett McGee, who specified in his will that the funds should be used to help the poor of Delaware County. This year’s grant recipients are Second Helpings, the Delaware County Food Bank, Helping Services, the Riverview Center, Lutheran Services, West Delaware’s Back to School Fair, Junior Achievement, First Presbyterian Church’s Birthday Bag Program and the Methodist Church’s Clothing Closet. The grants totaled over $25,000.
