Superstorm sandy has pounded huge portions of the northeast and midatlantic at this hour, we know at least 16 people have died. More than 7 Million People have been plunged into the dark and local officials have been stunned by the damage and devastation. Good tuesday morning. Im Chris Jansing reporting live from new york and parts of new york city are underwater this morning. The images from Lower Manhattan shows cars half submerged. Tunnels, subways and the financial district flooded. All of Lower Manhattan is in the dark. Some of those outages caused by a con Ed Substation that exploded overnight. More than 1. 5 million have lost power across new york city, long island and westchester. Now we also want to show you these pictures from breezy point, queens, at least 50 homes have been destroyed by fire. Further east at least seven homes on fire island have fallen into the ocean. Metro workers on friday and today we learned this is not about a contract. Workers are very upset with a new sick policy. Metro workers are now required to request most excused absences including sick leave and get supervisor approval of at least three full schedule workdays in advance so people who will be sick on friday had to request that day yesterday in order to follow policy. Now, the union says they did not ask anyone to call out sick but they did call the policy ridiculous and asinine. Metro put a statement out yesterday saying that due to the threat of a sickout, all the supervisor will be forced to work 12 hour shifts. We are tired of the employees taking it on the chin because ramada is running around like the keystone cops changing policies and not knowing how to implement them. Metro says it received nearly 500 absent requests for friday from both bus and the rail employees and they added that they denied all of full bus and rail service on friday. Question, is a woman all
