CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland City Council President Kevin Kelley on Tuesday stripped indicted Councilman Ken Johnson of his chairmanship of council’s Municipal Services and Properties Committee and removed him from his committees.
Kelley announced the changes Tuesday afternoon. Councilman Kevin Bishop will take Johnson’s place as chairman. Bishop has been a member of that committee.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Documents from the U.S. District Attorneyâs Office show that Cleveland Councilman Kenneth Johnson and two others were arrested on charges of theft from federal programs.
The 74-year-old sitting Cleveland City Council member elected to represent Ward 4 and the Buckeye-Shaker neighborhood faces 15 charges related to federal program theft, including:
2 counts of conspiracy to commit federal program theft
6 counts of federal program theft
5 counts of aiding and assisting in the preparation of false tax returns

Longtime Cleveland City Councilman Kenneth Johnson has been indicted by a federal grand jury on corruption charges. The indictment against Johnson and two other associates was unsealed Tuesday in U.S. District Court. The FBI tells 3News Johnson has also been arrested.
His assistant, Garnell Jamison, and former head of the Buckeye Shaker Development Corp., John Hopkins, were also named in the 29-page indictment. The men face charges of:
