Forum was for public interaction with opposition leaders
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (Radio New Zealand International, November 3, 2015) – Papua New Guinea s police commissioner has met the Opposition leader after the police yesterday blocked a planned public forum in a Port Moresby park.
The opposition leader, Don Polye, had planned to hold the forum to give the public an opportunity to put questions to opposition MPs.
But the police commissioner Gari Baki intervened, saying the likelihood of some form of unrest happening was 99.9 percent, and that a public park was not the place to discuss sensitive issues of national importance.
