The construction of major bridges in Uttarakhand has made the Char Dham Yatra safer and easier. These bridges connect important towns in the region, making the pilgrimage journey more convenient. The challenging projects were awarded to Rahee Infratech Ltd, who successfully constructed the bridges in the treacherous Garhwal Himalayan range. The fabrication of these world-class bridges was carried out in Rishikesh itself. These bridges not only facilitate pilgrim movements but also fuel traffic and freight movement, contributing to the growth of the Indian economy.
The number of pilgrims visiting the Char Dhams in Uttarakhand has exceeded 50 lakh for the first time. The famous pilgrimage sites of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri have attracted a record number of pilgrims from both India and abroad. Additionally, over 5.41 lakh vehicles have reached the Char Dhams. Kedarnath Dham received the highest number of pilgrims, followed by Badrinath Dham, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Hemkund Sahib also saw over 1.77 lakh devotees. The police are committed to ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of the Yatra.
