Gosh, was that ever fun. Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Sheffield United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and were absolutely terrible hosts, crushing the Blades 4-0 on Sunday afternoon. Gareth Bale scored a hat trick and could’ve had more, and Son Heung-Min added a late fourth goal as well to put a smile back on his face. There’s nothing quite like a comprehensive thumping, even if it’s at the expense of one of the worst sides in Premier League history.

It’s been a while since Spurs fans have felt good after a Tottenham Hotspur match. Spurs, under new interim manager Ryan Mason, looked a little disjointed in the first half but came roaring back in the second 45, scoring two goals en route to a come from behind 2-1 win over Saints.

Dear Lord, do I have to? Tottenham Hotspur went to the Emirates with a chance to go ten points clear of tenth place Arsenal and stake a claim on maaaaaaaybe sneaking into fourth place, and instead laid an egg, losing 2-1 to a Martin Odegaard blast and a (controversial?) penalty converted by Alexandre Lacazette.
I hate doing player ratings after a loss when we play bad, especially themed ones. And this season in particular, with matches coming fast, finding good themes has been a grind. This time, inspiration simply did not land, and I’ve gotta get this article on the blog before people yell at me.

Here’s a secret: I hate midweek league matches. The Premier League grind is already bad enough what with midweek cup and European cup matches, but there’s just no great way to do a Premier League match coverage justice when you only have three days in-between games. Especially when the matches end up pretty blah affairs like this one was. Yes, Tottenham Hotspur won over Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage, and I know a win’s a win but this match was at times pretty painful to watch.
