Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden reopens on St. Patrick s Day
From Staff Reports
After navigating the threat of Covid-19 for a year, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden will reopen to the public on St. Patrick s Day, March 17.
The garden has operated under various scenarios over the past year, but with vaccinations increasing and the spread of COVID-19 on the decline, the garden will now open more fully 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
The change includes the opening of Lost Hollow: The Kimbrell Children’s Garden, which the garden has kept closed out of an abundance of caution because it includes numerous touch surfaces and structures that make social distancing a little more difficult.
Decor that grows with you.
Plant Shop Seattleâor your apartment? Photo by Chona Kasinger.
Whether youâre a green green thumb or an old-growth expert, the Seattle areaâs full of plant shops thatâll help you bring the outside in (or just make the outside nicer). Â
Miraculous air purifiers or no, the pandemic pauses for no plant shop. Some of these businesses have adjusted their hours, while others require an appointment. Check in on a shopâs website before visiting.Â
Decor at this Eastside nursery is classic plant shop (think metal lawn ornaments and cheeky signage), but its gardening selection is a different beastâthink tons of niche tools, herbs and seasonal veggie seeds, rare fruiting plants. (Everyoneâs on the planting wave this year, so supplies may occasionally be low. Call ahead.)Â
