Keep Your Greenery Alive Year Round With These Toasty Greenhouses SPY 5 days ago © Courtesy of Amazon It’s spring, almost summer, and that means it’s plant season. If you’ve managed to keep your indoor potted plants alive all winter long congrats. Some of us weren’t that lucky. Thankfully, it’s officially the season when outdoor growing becomes much more of a possibility, and all the sunshine is just waiting to help some plants thrive. It’s time to get your vegetable seeds ready to sprout, purchase some new indoor and outdoor plants, grab your favorite fertilizer, some gardening gloves, a nice set of gardening tools and get to work. Whether you’re looking to plant produce you can snack on a few months from now or prefer a nice patch of orchids, succulents and herbs, there are ways to jumpstart your plants’ development. One of the best ways is to use a greenhouse.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden reopens on St Patrick s Day

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden reopens on St. Patrick s Day From Staff Reports After navigating the threat of Covid-19 for a year, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden will reopen to the public on St. Patrick s Day, March 17. The garden has operated under various scenarios over the past year, but with vaccinations increasing and the spread of COVID-19 on the decline, the garden will now open more fully 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. The change includes the opening of Lost Hollow: The Kimbrell Children’s Garden, which the garden has kept closed out of an abundance of caution because it includes numerous touch surfaces and structures that make social distancing a little more difficult.

Some of these businesses have adjusted their hours, while others require an appointment. Check in on a shop’s website before visiting.  Decor at this Eastside nursery is classic plant shop (think metal lawn ornaments and cheeky signage), but its gardening selection is a different beast—think tons of niche tools, herbs and seasonal veggie seeds, rare fruiting plants. (Everyone’s on the planting wave this year, so supplies may occasionally be low. Call ahead.)
