Do you love native plants? Do you love to watch bees, butterflies and hummingbirds move from one plant to another in your garden? Are you searching for ideas to improve your garden in 2021?
If you answered yes to all of these questions, then taking steps to create and maybe have your garden certified as a Penn State Extension pollinator-friendly garden could be your next step. This article will outline the steps necessary to accomplish that goal.
Satisfying the requirements to have your garden certified will take some effort, but it will be well worth it. According to Connie Schmotzer, coordinator, Pollinator Preferences and Pollinator Certification Programs, Pennsylvania, currently boasts 962 certified pollinator-friendly gardens, while Beaver County currently has nine. Perhaps your garden will become number 10!
