The defendant is charged with several counts including two counts of having heroin for sale or supply on different dates, and of assault causing harm .
Garda Aidan Cremin was laid to rest on Monday in Aghadoe, just a short distance from his native Beaufort.
His sudden death has caused sadness in Kerry and West Cork, where Aidan played an instrumental role in the lives of many down through the years. That s testament to the high esteem in which he was held, evident as friends and family lined the road-side on Friday last as Garda Cremin made his way home for one final time. Led by Garda colleagues, the hearse passed through Crookstown, Adrigole, Glengarriff, Castletownbere, Eyeries and Kenmare, on to Killarney.
A former student at St Brendan s College, Aidan worked for many years in Moriarty s Photographic Store on New Street before he joined An Garda Siochána in 2000. He was first stationed in Dundalk before transferring to Adrigole in 2007. When Adrigole closed, he transferred to Castletownbere, where he has been based since.
