THE Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Borno State Command, has paraded a military impersonator identified as Abubakar Mohammed and two others who go about as civilian JTF members in Maiduguri.
The 22-year-old fake soldier was arrested along Damboa road on May 16, 2021 while in military trousers and wearing a face cap.
According to the fake soldier, the trousers belong to his older brother who is serving at the Maimalari Barracks, headquarters of 7 Division, where the operational command headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai is situated.
“I wanted to buy cigarettes at a kiosk; there are police officers that are often stationed at the kiosk on patrol at night. So, I went and took my elder brother’s khaki trousers in order to have easy access to the Fulani man selling the cigarette.
