Karl Scott Top Candidate For Big 10 Coordinator Job The mass exodus of the Alabama 2020 football staff apparently is continuing. Defensive backs coach Karl Scott is apparently the top choice for the Maryland defensive coordinator job, according to Matt Zeniz of AL.com. Scott has coached cornerbacks for the last three seasons for the Crimson Tide. Alabama has produced several top defensive backs under his tutelage in Tuscaloosa. Alabama has had three defensive backs already drafted in his time and will expect to have another first rounder this year in Patrick Surtain. His first year in Tuscaloosa he worked alongside current Maryland head coach, Mike Locksley who was offensive coordinator.
