FULTON Emery Mayfield, Fulton girls cross country s 5,000-meter run record holder and the 2023 Class 4 state runner-up, officially signed for St. Louis University women s cross country Friday at Fulton High School.
The Fulton Flash youth cross country program has been the starting line for some of Callaway County s most successful high school runners since its inception 10 years ago.
Moving up a class didn t bother Fulton, as girls runner Emery Mayfield ran the fastest district time in Class 4, and the Hornets girls team qualified for state for the first time in 30 years.
