Harrods has been embroiled in a handbag row after it was accused of treating Hindu gods like fashion accessories .
The row erupted after members of the faith hit out at the luxury department store for selling a handbag in the shape of the god Ganesha, featuring a leather lining which is against the Hindu belief in non-violence towards animals.
