古树
古树茶的茶香高扬，香气细腻悠久。茶汤口感丰厚圆润，味道层次感高，回甘生津的特色明显，醇度与茶韵普遍较佳，耐泡表现出色，优质古树茶基本能冲泡十五泡，甚至更多。当茶叶泡开后用手触摸叶片，能够感受到古树茶的叶片厚度与弹性，且其叶脉凸出清晰。微微拉扯茶叶，叶片柔软不易扯烂，韧度比台地茶强。
就茶品品质、茶汤的香气与味道而言，台地茶较差，古树茶较好。因为品质较佳，古树茶受很多普洱茶友欢迎，于市面上的售价也较高。因此选购古树普洱茶的时候，就要仔细留意茶品，建议先试茶，以免受骗。
纯料
纯料又大致分为混采和单株，简单来说，单株就是指只从一棵古茶树上采来的茶菁，由采摘到制茶过程中都不会与其他茶菁混拼，而是单独制成的普洱茶。而混采是指茶菁是采自多棵来自同一茶园，但树龄不同
