An Amble councillor has cautiously welcomed the ‘complete turnaround’ in the town’s Covid-19 rates.

Six weeks ago, Amble ward had among Northumberland’s highest coronavirus infection rates but case numbers are now considerably lower.
Latest date from Public Health England, published by Northumberland County Council, reveals there were 13 positive cases in the week to January 13 with an infection rate of 247.6 per 100,000.
Neighbouring Amble West with Warkworth fares even better with fewer than five positive cases recorded over the same period and an infection rate of 99.2.
