Slain man’s brother urges police to catch mystery killer Two days before his 22nd birthday, at around 8pm on Friday evening, Bangu Lowani was stabbed to death in the centre of Francistown. The brutal, seemingly unprovoked murder has sent shockwaves across the city. Five days later and the young dad’s killer remains at large. A talented footballer and a popular figure in Ghetto, Bangu’s devastated family are struggling to understand their son’s violent end. “Bangu was a solid person, a hard worker with a soft heart. We expected a lot from him since we lost our mother. He just got his PRDP [Professional Driving Permit] as his wish was to drive a combi,” reveals the slain man’s older brother, Jetro Lowani.

Cops nab alleged diamond sellers

DPMU SUPRITENDENT:Ookeditse Moseki Three men, Zimbabwean duo Hloniphani Ndlovu, 30, Khulekani Ncube, 31 and Monarch native Tshepiso Bugalo were arrested last Wednesday in possession of shiny stones suspected to be diamonds. Speaking in an interview, Diamonds and Minerals Protection Unit Northern Division, Superintendent Ookeditse Moseki said the trio was nabbed at Galo Mall in the afternoon following a tip off. “Our police officers attended the scene and found the three men in their car with 70 pieces of stones suspected to be diamonds. “Apparently they were offering the ‘diamonds’ for sale. They were immediately arrested and the Motswana suspect was also found in possession of what we suspect to be dagga,” revealed Moseki.
