COVID-19 deaths reported in Gallia County … Latest case data for Gallia, Mason and Meigs Staff Report OHIO VALLEY Three COVID-19 deaths were reported in Gallia County on Friday as new cases rose by double digits in Gallia, Mason and Meigs Counties. The Gallia County Health Department reported three new COVID-19 deaths, 11 new cases and one new hospitalization on Friday. Two of the new deaths are in the 70-79 age range and one new death was in the 80-plus age range. The Mason County Health Department reported 15 new cases on Friday and a total of 135 active cases. The Meigs County Health Department reported 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the active case total to 135 cases.

The Mason County Health Department reported 24 new cases on Thursday afternoon. There are currently 121 active cases in the county. The Gallia County Health Department reported 42 new COVID-19 cases in the county on Thursday, as well as four new hospitalizations. The new deaths are both females, one in the 90s age range and one in the 60s age range, according to the Mason County Health Department. The Meigs County Health Department reported 32 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 and one probable case of COVID-19 from Dec. 12-14, as well as 49 additional recovered cases and three new hospitalizations. The Mason County Health Department reported an additional death on Tuesday morning. This individual was a female in the 80-89 year age range. The Ohio Department of Health and the Gallia County Health Department reported four new hospitalizations, with one each in the 0-19, 20-29, 70-79 and 80-plus age ranges. Forty-nine new cases were reported in the county since Monday. Nine new cases were reported by the Meigs County Health Department in Tuesday’s update, bringing the active case total to 169.
