Developers Gallford Try are now in the early stages of seeking permission to build a block of 262 flats. The facades are all that remain of the old buildings after the council approved demolition work for redevelopment in 2019.

Lowery has been announced as the firm’s infrastructure business operations director and will have responsibility for its relationship with Highways England. Construction News revealed last year that Galliford Try Infrastructure was the 13th biggest supplier to Highways England in the 2019/20 financial year with a spend of £52m. The Costain / Galliford Try smart motorway joint venture was the seventh biggest construction firm working for the roads body, with £112m of spend in the year.
