BOZEMAN â Gallatin County, as well as many other areas now, have had a full weekend without face-covering rules after the Gallatin City-County Health Department followed CDC guidance and lifted those restrictions on Friday.
The health officer says while it will no longer be enforced, businesses can choose to continue following their own mask rules and many are.
Itâs been an action thatâs been coming for more than a year: lifting the emergency health regulations and restrictions across Gallatin County by the pen of Gallatin County Health Officer Matt Kelley.

BOZEMAN â The 2021 legislative session has ended, but thereâs still a lot of questions as far as public health decisions.
âWeâre trying to understand the implications of some of the legislation coming out of Helena, said Gallatin County Health Officer Matt Kelley. I will say in some cases Iâm confused. Weâre really feeling kind of whip-sawed by some of this.â
Part of House Bill 257 revises the law to stop actions from being made which impede a private businessâ ability to conduct business.
