Galesburg City Council looks poised to appoint a new City Manager on Tuesday, but who exactly that individual is remains unclear. Tuesday's Council meeting has on the agenda, "Appointment of Galesburg City Manager". There are no supporting documents, but the agenda says more information will be provided on Tuesday. Director of Public Works Wayne Carl has filled the interim City Manager role since May when Todd Thompson left to become City Manager of Rock Island. Thompson served as Galesburg City Manager for 11 and a half years. The Council will meet on Tuesday, instead of their normal Monday meeting day, because of Monday's Labor Day Holiday.
The goal of the survey is to analyze satisfaction and priority ratings from citizens to guide the pursuits and decisions of the Galesburg City Council.
The Galesburg City Council is scheduled to approve an interim city manager and a select a recruitment firm to assist in hiring a permanent city manager at the Monday, April 18 City Council meeting.
