Samsung rules the global smartphone market once again
Samsung enjoys a dominant position in the global smartphone market as the top vendor. The company continues to push hard to ensure that depsite increasing competition, it doesn’t lose out on the top spot.
The latest report from a market tracker has revealed that Samsung was on top once again. The company remained the largest single mobile vendor globally in the first quarter of this year.
Samsung remains on top of the smartphone market
According to a report by Strategy Analytics, Samsung saw its smartphone shipments surge 32 percent year-over-year to 77 million units in the period ending March 2021. It accounted for 23 percent of the entire smartphone market.
Samsung launches Galaxy SmartTag+ in South Korea
Samsung had unveiled two new object trackers Galaxy SmartTag and Galaxy SmartTag+ alongside the Galaxy S21 series earlier this year. While the entry-level Galaxy SmartTag became available for purchase immediately, the Galaxy SmartTag+ was recently launched in the US. Now, the company has announced that it has launched the Galaxy SmartTag+ in South Korea.
The Galaxy SmartTag+ is priced at KRW 39,600 (around $35) in South Korea, and it will be available in two colors: Black and Denim Blue. The object tracker can be purchased via 11Street, Coupang, G Market, Naver Smart Home, and Samsung’s online and offline stores.
Samsung India has new cashback deals on Galaxy S21 and mid-rangers
Samsung India has just announced a ton of exciting deals on select Galaxy products as part of its latest Samsung Days Sale event, with cashback offers on the latest Galaxy S21 series as well as numerous other devices from the Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F family of devices.
The cashback offers are valid for HDFC Bank credit or debit card users and include INR 5,000 ($67), INR 7,000 ($94), and INR 10,000 ($134) cashback on the Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra, respectively.
Customers who might be looking to buy one of Samsung’s more affordable devices can benefit from a 10% or up to INR 1,000 ($13) cashback on mid-range models, once again as long as they purchase the device using an HDFC Bank credit or debit card.
Samsung TV Plus launched for Galaxy smartphones, tablets in Korea
After launching Samsung TV Plus in India earlier this month, the company has announced that it has launched the Samsung TV Plus app for Galaxy smartphones and tablets in South Korea. Galaxy users in Samsung’s home country would now be able to stream the same content on their mobile devices as they could on their Tizen-powered smart TVs.
The Samsung TV Plus app for smartphones and tablets allows users to stream content wherever they are. The app has three tabs: Live, Discover, and My TV Plus. The Live tab shows the complete list of channels along with EPG (Electronic Program Guide) and the currently-playing channel. The Discover tab shows featured content, recommended channels and videos, and movies. The My TV Plus tab shows users their favorite channels and reminders. Samsung takes home 71 iF Design awards for its foldables, TVs, and more
Samsung has announced that it has won a whopping 71 awards during this year’s International Forum Design Award event. The company took home 36 design awards for its products, 11 awards for communication design, 10 awards for professional concepts, 9 awards for UI and UX design, and 5 awards for packaging design.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip won awards for their groundbreaking designs, while Samsung’s 8K QLED TVs won the award for their bezel-less design and immersive picture quality. The Premiere triple-laser ultrashort throw 4K projector from the South Korean firm also won an award for its outstanding design.
