The report of the ministerial subcommittee appointed by the president on February 19, 2021 to study the Final Report of the PCoI on the Easter Sunday Attacks and to suggest how its recommendations should be carried out was handed over to the president on April 5 by its secretary Harigupta Rohanadheera, the director general of legal affairs at the presidential secretariat. The sectoral oversight committee comprised minister Chamal Rajapaksa (chairman), and ministers Udaya Gammanpila, Prasanne Ranatunga, Romesh Pathirana, Johnston Fernando and Rohitha Abeygunawardane. COLOMBO (News1st): All parts of the government must come together and present one stance on the handing over of the East Container Terminal, Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero said.
Addressing a media briefing today, the Venerable Thero said that different parts of the government are expressing mixed opinions on the matter. The Thero insisted that the President must make a statement to the people of this country.
“The East container terminal and the west container terminal are both ours. We are not asking them not to give away any specific asset. We are completely against selling off our assets,” the Thero added.
