Nethmi Gauravi Muhandiram , a grade 12 student of Nugawela Central College,Kandy is a talented Taekwondo player and an athlete. Before joining this school she was studying at Galagedara Central where she started athletics and Taekwondo. Her athletic and Taekwondo coach at Galagedara Central was Anusha Pathirana. Nethmi joined Nugawela Central to do higher studies and improve her talents in ahletics and Taekwondo. At the start she showed her athletic skills by winning first place in the 200 metre race and, second place in the long jump event at the Divisional Sports Meet in 2015. In the year 2017 she secured the first place in 100 metre race, long Jump and triple jump at the School Inter House Athletic Championship at the Under 14 Age Group.

Dr. Kumuduni Kumarihamy   We need to focus on the geographies within or rather internal geographies of the pandemic. Geographically speaking, this pandemic is now fully localized. The map prepared by the Epidemiological Unit of the Ministry of Health, based on the prevalence of positive cases within the ‘last 14 days,’ provides us with three categories of risk areas, based on MOH divisions (see Map 01, 02, and 03). They are (a) MOH areas where a single case is not reported (yellow areas), (b) Low-risk MOH areas where cases were reported before 14 days (green areas), and (C) High-risk MOH areas where positive cases were reported within 14 days (red areas). These maps generally show how the disease has spread across the country over time.

Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said the government will hold an internal inquiry to probe whether any illegal activity had occurred during the humanitarian operation that led to the end of the 30-year war. He said that although two inquiries were held during Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Presidency they ceased to function with his defeat at the 2015 Presidential Election. Minister Rambukwella was speaking at a media briefing held at the Galagedara Electorate Council meeting of SLPP at the Library Auditorium of the Galagedara Pradeshiya Sabha on Saturday (6).
