The visual and performing arts communities were among the sectors badly affected when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted what would have been a lovely year for culture. Fortunately, the Art Fair Philippines was able to showcase a wide array of contemporary paintings, sculptures, and performances in 2020.
With the virtual success of Art In The Park last August 2020 and February this year, the powerhouse team of Lisa Periquet, Trickie Lopa, and Dindin Araneta is confident that the much-awaited return of Art Fair Philippines will be well-received despite taking the virtual route this edition.
Shining spotlight on digital art this year, Art Fair Philippines 2021 is showcasing education on Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) in one of its sections on the website. With the aim to spark new connections between works of art from Southeast Asia , the presentation is accessible online with S.E.A. Focus Digital and physically at the S.E.A. Focus Curated showcase, titled
hyper–horizon, presented at the warehouse complex Tanjong Pagar Distripark.
This year s edition eschews a traditional booth structure for a fluid design by Randy Chan of Zarch Collaboratives to offer a borderless experience , reflecting Singapore s position as a crucial hub for the region s art scene.
