A MAN from Barrow has been fined and banned from driving for being over the limit for cannabis, a court heard. Stuart Merchant, 29, was said to have been tested for drug driving after hitting a rock in Ulpha on July 19, 2020, South Cumbria Magistrates Court was told. The Gainsborough Place resident admitted the charge of driving on Birka Fell Road, Ulpha , when the proportion of a controlled drug, namely Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, in his blood, namely 7.6 ug/L, exceeded the specified limit of 2ug/L. Prosecution lawyer Lee Dacre opened his account by stating that police were called on the date of the offence to a driver, Mr Merchant, who had collided with a rock in Ulpha.
