It s something that continued to intrigue audiences as detective unit AC-12 pursued their hunt for the corrupt police officer at the heart of the BBC crime drama.

Who is Ian Buckells?
Detective Superintendent Ian Buckells is played by actor Nigel Boyle and was assigned to Hillside Lane Station Murder Investigation Team.
During series six, Buckells coaxed a false testimony out of Deborah Devereux to link Terry Boyle to the murder of journalist Gail Vella.

Line of Duty star Martin Compston reveals this week s episode could be the last. (PA) Line of Duty star Martin Compston has hinted the sixth series of BBC hit Line Of Duty could be the last. Compston, who plays DI Steve Arnott in the popular show, reveled tonight s episode could be the last but described the end of series six as the perfect ending if that does turn out to be the case. The penultimate episode of the police procedural, created by Jed Mercurio, earned an average of 11 million viewers and 51.7% of the audience share, according to the broadcaster. The sixth series of the BBC One show, starring Compston as DI Steve Arnott alongside Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Kelly Macdonald, will come to an end this weekend (2 May). A seventh series has not yet been announced.
