After welcoming almost a quarter of a million people through its doors since opening five years ago, the Gail Borden Public Library s South Elgin Branch is holding a party Wednesday to celebrate the anniversary.

Gail Borden Public Library s South Elgin Branch has plenty to celebrate as it turns five this month, including the fact that it has welcomed more than 43,800 visitors since opening its doors in July 2016 as South Elgin s first library.
The library is inviting families to celebrate its five years of service with an anniversary party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 at Panton Mill Park, right on the Fox River on North Water Street in South Elgin. Music, games, prizes, snacks and more are planned for this free event.
