Irish Bookfest For a relatively small island, Ireland has made a huge contribution to world literature. Come to the Gaelic League's Irish bookfest on Saturday, November 5, from 1-5pm, to learn why this tradition is so remarkably rich. See the 100 year old club's antique book collection, learn how to research your genealogy and plan your trip to Ireland. And start reading and writing. A great variety of surplus books will be for sale along with the Gaelic League's own Emerald Campaign centennial publications, and a new Story Circle for readers and writers is launching.
St. Patrick's Day festivities are taking place throughout metro Detroit Thursday. Businesses are welcoming crowds they haven't seen since before the pandemic.
Air Force veteran Brian Leslie was at the Gaelic League of Detroit on February 12 when his car - and his prized bagpipes - were stolen. He hopes to have them back before St. Patrick's Day.
