Cavan-Belturbet Councillor Madeleine Argue has said she is honoured to become Vice-President of Fine Gael Executive Council.
Cllr Argue, who has represented the Cavan-Belturbet electoral area since 1999, was appointed to the position by the party’s Executive Council following a recent meeting.
Cllr Argue joins former Minister and current Carlow/Kilkenny T.D. John Paul Phelan, who is the other Vice-President. She will serve in her role as Vice-President until the next Árd Fheis.
Cllr Argue has much experience in local politics as her father Andy O’Brien, former Senator (1969-1987), represented the people of Cavan before her. She was elected as Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council in 2018-19, and she is a former Chairperson of Cavan VEC. – later CMETB.
