there is nothing that connects the various components of his foreign policy which is to say there is no foreign policy. there abetting the killing of gadhafi which was insane, it was unremarked upon at the time to undermining mubarak. why would we do that? bananas. the whole thick has been baa the thing is baa bananas. the net result is complete chaos. by the way, i was very willing to give him every benefit of every doubt on foreign policy. i was open minded. on this as compared to, you know, i disagree with a lot of stuff from the beginning, but this stuff i was ready to agree with him. harris, don t you think this also goes back to what president obama says and he was saying that al-qaeda s on the run? he tried to assure the american people we were safer, and now we re hearing from terrorists, from isis saying we ll see you in new york. yeah, they are just like blitzkrieg across a country right now that we already took. they are taking iraq back,
telling those two things i thought if i were gadhafi which would think ka-ching i just hit the jackpot. in warfare the determined success is time. all of the airplanes in nato won t be able to dig his soldiers out of these buildings and out of trenches. the enemy is beginning to get close to civilians so the killing power of aerial attack is reduced. there s very little reforcement. brits are sending advisers in. that s a very small measure considering the initiative which belongs to gadhafi s forces. greta: two choices do nothing and watch everyone get slaughtered or put boots on the ground and our boots are stretched and there s not much appetite in this country for that. we could have early on put advisers on the ground. special forces, guys who are very good at this with a very
small cost. we could have used aircraft that suited for close air support early on. but right now greta: why didn t we? it hard to say. i think what the administration wanted to do is let the brits and french run the show. make it appear to be a war fought by nato. if you ask anyone who is in charge of this campaign? they will tell you the united states and things aren t going well what do you think folks in iran and north korea are thinking? all that airpower, unable to knock off a tin horn dictator? maybe these guys aren t so tough after all, think about it. greta: what is going to happen? this will end with a whimper not a bang. the city the country will remain bifurcated and gadhafi for some period of time is going to remain in tower. greta: general, always nice to see you even on sad nights like this. thank you. thank you greta. greta: a programming note. we have a special hour planned

very few supplies coming in. no matter, no electricity. the troops are running out of ammunition. i would estimate it is only a mary of time before that city collapses. greta: so gadhafi wins? gadhafi wins in misrata. things are not looking better in the rest of the country. i said before, napoleon said wars aren t won by half measures. we should be in or out. right now it looks as if the british, french and the italians are trying to carry on this war. as it it doesn t look good for the rebels. greta: on march 28th, the president spoke to the nation. he said two things about the war that i thought was stunning about it. number one, he told gadhafi we are not going to put boots on the ground. the second thing he said broadening our military mission to include regime change would be a mistake. there s no regime change. which means he told gadhafi wait it out, you will win.
