The U.S. Postal Service recently ranked San Antonio ninth in the nation for mail carriers who get bitten by dogs, a distinction that was only surprising because it was not higher.
For dog lovers and advocates of responsible pet ownership, and, in turn, safety for all, this is a vexing and persistent issue. In 2012, the USPS ranked San Antonio second in the nation, with 42 attacks on postal workers. For 2020, our ninth-place ranking translated into 36 attacks.
