The Phase 1 trial of Bharat Biotech s nasal Covid-19 vaccine has begun in Hyderabad, with volunteers being given the vaccine dose, not via injection but through nasal drops. Among the facilities that have started the trial include a Hyderabad hospital. Two of the 10 shortlisted volunteers received the nasal vaccine on Friday and are reportedly doing fine.
It was on Tuesday that the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) had given Bharat Biotech the permission to start clinical trials of their intranasal Covid-19 vaccine BBV154.
